At the beginning of everything is remembering

Himmat Media is a branding, marketing, and consulting studio building the cultural infrastructure behind brands, organisations, and movements.

We create brand identities, websites, campaigns, and the long-term strategy that helps meaningful work grow without losing the values, communities, and stories that brought it here.

Who We've Worked With

From grassroots collectives to national institutions, our work spans scale, sector, and spirit.

We've partnered with organisations across the globe, helping meaningful ideas find their language, strengthen their foundations, and grow without losing what made them matter in the first place.

How We Work

Every organisation carries its own way of seeing the world. A history, a community, and a reason people return to it. Our work begins by uncovering those foundations, then translating them into the strategy, story, systems, and design that carry them forward.

Swipe, But Make It Culture

We led campaign strategy, cultural consulting, and creative direction for #JustDate – a bold, witty reframe of South Asian dating for our client, Dil Mil.

From interpreting survey data to shaping influencer strategy and crafting one-liners like “Say goodbye to hookups in the car. #JustDate Sangtar,” we built a campaign steeped in cultural nuance and playful honesty.

The result? Viral traction, 700% spike in engagement, with 700,000+ new app members joined, and a lasting cultural moment – everyone was talking about it, relating to it, and every desi remembers it.

Cultural Strategy & Advisory

Where momentum becomes infrastructure

  • Organisational Identity & Alignment (your why, your services, your foundation)

  • Narrative Research & Interview-Based Storytelling (exhibits, archives, oral history methodology)

  • Fundraising & Impact Strategy / Reports

  • Donor Strategy & Stewardship

  • Internal Systems & Operations Overhauls

  • Long-Term Roadmaps & Communications Planning (10-year plans, brand kits, training manuals)

Uncovering The Power Narrative

We worked with the project leads of the Overcaste Exhibit, a landmark exhibition on caste visibility in BC, to consult on interview design and narrative development. We helped co-develop open-ended, consent-based prompts that let interviewees speak in their own rhythm, then shaped the resulting oral histories into a digitized exhibit, moving from erasure to lasting emergence.

The result? An exhibit that's drawn hundreds of thousands of visitors, become a nationally referenced model for caste-based public storytelling in Canada, and carried its project leads to speak on panels across North America, from Oakland to Stanford to UBC.

Form, Function, and Film: The Digital Soul of the Sundar Prize Film Festival

We built the visual world of the Sundar Prize Film Festival and its youth initiative called the Luminaries Program – branding, main logo, website, and newsletter – all of which is rooted in their justice-forward mission and global ambition.

With a socially grounded, future-facing design language, we helped position them as a rising force in global film. Our email strategy? Warm, clear, grounding and effective – averaging over 50% open rates. We continue to support Sundar Prize and Luminaries with ongoing marketing strategy, community engagement, and arts-sector expertise.

From Concept to Cultural Staple: 5X Fest

Over a decade of collaboration with VIBC led to the transformation of Vancouver’s iconic City of Bhangra Festival into 5X Fest – a youth-driven platform celebrating South Asian expression. We aligned stakeholders, community, and audience while building consistent programming for hybrid-identity youth to explore culture through the expressive arts.

The result? A Vancouver cultural mainstay with 30,000+ attendees and expanded professional pathways for racialised and gendered creatives.

In partnership with Aura Orthodontics, we co-created the Future Smiles Initiative – a youth-centred programme rooted in confidence, healthcare access, and mentorship.

Through culturally grounded consulting, intuitive brand design, and story-rich strategy, we helped Dr. Sharma build a presence that connects oral health to leadership, identity, and long-term community impact.

This project reflects our belief that marketing is most powerful when it meets people where they are – in classrooms, neighbourhoods, and futures-in-progress.

Seed Codes is our creative development studio, where new ideas, cultural projects, and community-rooted stories find the structure to survive and last.

We build the bones: the brand, the framework, the infrastructure, the story, and the long-term strategy that allow community-rooted ideas to grow without distortion.

  • The Himmat Exhibit

HIMMAT: Celebrating the Women Around Us began as a storytelling project honouring everyday South Asian women in the Lower Mainland – especially those who moved through life, labour, and identity long before today’s justice movements.

What began as a social media call-in became a powerful archive of voices, revealing the beauty and complexity of South Asian microcultures – from silence and sacrifice to resilience and joy.

  • Chaa Da Cup Series

Chaa Da Cup is a storytelling series co-created with Harnaaz Kaur Grewal, rooted in tea as ritual and the lived experiences of South Asian women and other marginalised communities across Canada.

What began as one chaa session grew into conversations on memory, identity, and resilience – where stories of silence, strength, and sisterhood are shared, one cup at a time.

  • Voices for Indigenous Equity in Law

Voices for Indigenous Equity in Law is a student-led initiative co-developed by Himmat Media and the University of Leicester’s Pro Bono Society – the first of its kind at any UK university. It centres Indigenous rights, sovereignty, and justice in legal education, linking students to real-world challenges and pathways for advocacy, recognition, and restitution across the Commonwealth.

What Our Clients and partners Are Saying About Himmat Media

“I think about all of the stories that are going untold, or partially told because they are not being told by the right people… this is about our whole selves.”
